This is very special one of a kind Colt LARGE FRAME Lightning in the powerful .50 -95-300. ( sale pending) It has been in my collection for over thirty years and is a one of a kind custom Colt Antique -S# 45xx. It has the Oct bbl and a custom cast solid Sterling Silver crescent butt plate. Express frame Lightnings are so scarce - i usually bought every one I coud find. I always wanted a .50 Express but they were almost imopossible to find and if you did find one indecent condition it would start at 5 figures -I finally decided I had to have one and chose one of my Express frames that had some issues. It was clean silid metal with no mechanical or bad cosmetic damage - but the bore was poor and had a slight bulge near the muzzle. The wood was very good in fit and condition and the action was still tight and crisp - so I had it custom restored and rebored out to the prized .50 express cal. and shortened to carbing length of 22". I have only had it in the field once and it functions perfectly. An original one in this condition would be $14- 18 thousand range. . It is a thing of beauty from an era gone by. It has a Globe folding fron tsight and a carbine style rear sight. Bore is mint. It is the ultimate conversation piece and will bring down anything in North America. It is of course restored but is all original Colt large frame barrel receiver stocks etc. Also I always wanted anantique with a real solid silver butt. That was an expensive touch - but classy.
