Description:
Isreali K 98 Mauser (Fabrique Nationale Mfg. 1948). Cal 7.62. Ser. 608680. This is one of the rare 7.62 conversions that was used in the famous Isreali 6 day war. The condition of it is outstanding.
It retains about 85-90% of the original finish.There are no pits rust or scratches anywhere. The butt plate does have a fewsmall areas of surface pitting.The receiver is stamped with a large Star of David bordered with Isreali text. The side is stamped with the Israeli Defense Forces initials.
All numbered parts match. The dark walnut stock and hand guard match nicely and are in fine condition. There are a few slight surface nicks and dings, but no splits, or chips missing. The toe of the butt is stamped 7.62. The bore like the rest of the gun shows some light use. the barrel is really fine. The bore is quite bright with extra sharp rifling and just a touch of frost. The gun comes with an original Israeli marked grenade launcher.
Th condition of the launcher is as above, It does have extensive operation instructions written Hebrew text on it in two places in Hebrew. what a story it could tell. It was a important tool used in the valiant efforts of a tiny nation to secure a homeland.
