It was built by unknown Belgian master craftsmen in the immediate post-WWII period using a Francotte action and was brought back to the US by a member of the armed forces. It is cast-on for the left-handed shooter. The receiver is pristine with wonderful engraving and some remaining case color in protected areas. The 28” barrels have 2-3/4” chambers and are choked skeet (.005) in the lower barrel and light modified (.015) in the upper barrel. The minimum wall thickness for the lower barrel is .033 and for the upper barrel is .035. Bores 9” from the breech are both .729. At some point in the gun’s history, the European-style sling mounts were removed. The drop at the comb is 1-1/2” and at the heel 2-1/4”. Length of pull from the front trigger to the end of the wood is 14” and to the end of the recoil pad 15”. The gun weighs 7 pounds 1 ounce. The top lever returns to the right of center. The gun locks up tight and on-face. All serial numbers, 53774, match. The listed price does not include the cost of shipping. The inspection period is 7 days from receipt. The gun has been fired many times by the seller using standard factory 2-3/4” target loads. However, as for any antique or vintage shotgun, it is recommended that the new owner have it inspected by his or her gunsmith before firing. The gun carries a 30-day warrantee, during which Back in Time will have any mechanical problems documented by a professional gunsmith repaired or accept the return of the gun and refund the price of the gun and the return shipping cost.
