Description:
Serial #44L8651, .303 British, 25" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This Canadian-made rifle has retained about 20-30% of the original blue finish that has developed a dark, plum-brown patina on most of the metal. The balance of the metal has silvered along the high edges and projections, as well as an area cleaned to bright on the left side of the wrist. The non-matching bolt has a streaked, bright gray body with gray fading and slightly more of the original blue remaining. There is a CAI import mark on the underside of the barrel at the muzzle. The handguards, forend, and buttstock have an overall dark brown armory-added varnish over numerous small handling marks and surface blemishes throughout, while the alloy buttplate has a dull, pewter gray patina. An unmarked magazine is included, a two-position combat rear sight is installed, and dull gray canvassling is fitted. This is a nice example of a Canadian No. 4 rifle, in very good plus condition.
