We are proud to bring you this scarce and hard to find 5 digit serial numbered Springfield M1 Garand chambered in 30-06. This was a World War II infantry rifle made in 1940 with a serial number of 71701. This particular rifle would be one of the first 1.14% of all M1 Garands ever made. This particular rifle has been reconditioned during its life. It has a Winchester trigger guard and hammer. The receiver has been annealed. The gas cylinder locking screw is in the white and no parkerized. The stock is not original to the rifle but is a very old military stock. The wear gauge shows the muzzle 2+ and throat 4. The barrel is marked HRA 2-52. The safety displays no marks and is a single hole. The receiver is marked D28291-3-SA. The bolt is marked D28287-12 SA. The operating rod is marked D35382-SA. The trigger housing is marked D28290-12 SA. The hammer is marked C46008-1 WRA. The rear sight is a T105 DRC. The front sight is a hex allen. The only marking on the stock is a “P” on the grip. Overall it shows some wear but is in great condition. The bore is bright and shinny with clean rifling.
