Description:
Used.  One of the earliest production firearms for US military, Model 1819s saw widespread use in such conflicts as the Seminole Wars, Mexican War some use in the U.S. Civil War. Many were subsequently converted to use percussion caps. Maufactured by Simeon North these model 1819 pistols supplemented earlier model 1819's and 1811's that were in service at the time. Total manufactured was about 20,400.Marked "S. North. US MIDLTN CONN." in a semi-circle under an eagle logo.  Barrel marked with a P over US proof mark as well as the intitals JDJ for John D. Johnson. Stock cartouche Is faint
