Description:
Here we have a beautiful example of a Savage model 1899 Takedown. Chambered in .303 Savage with a 26in barrel. It features a shot counter on the side of the receiver, as well as a crescent steel buttplate. Wood is in good condition given its age. A few small scratches but no major cracks or dings in it. Fore end is the same condition showing its age but no structural or serious cosmetic wear. Blue finish on the barrel is relatively strong. This is not a perfect gun cosmetically, but the blue is still there only completely faded near the muzzle. Receiver is in good condition with no rust but good finish. Rifling is strong and bore is bright and pit free. Overall a great collector rifle or even a trusty hunting rifle.
