Please go to ironmenarms . c o m for many more detailed photos. Parker Bros. BHE 12 Gauge. Serial number 173217 made in 1917. This Rare and Unique Large Parker Double was certainly a special order Trap shooters shotgun. Rare features include 34 inch Acme Steel barrels, number 3 frame, straight hand stock and factory cheek piece. Included with this fine double is a Parker Gun Collector's Association Research Letter. Condition is really nice as redone in the past most likely by Del Grego. This shotgun is tight and on face with strong ejectors. Sharp BH Grade engraving with the famous double dog on each side of the receiver. Excellent timed screws. Strong traces of Remington/Del Grego case color. Beautiful straight stock that is numbered to the shotgun under the trigger guard tang. Excellent barrel blue. It know features a Remington era Vent rib and correct Beavertail fore end with the proper screw that is through from the end. The barrels also appear to have been mono-bloced possibly when the rib was added. There is a vast array of Remington Repair codes on the barrel flats that we have not deciphered. We have received three high grade Parkers from the same collection and all three have this type Remington era vent rib and correct large fore ends. Great shooting dimenions; #3 frame, 34 inch barrels. Bore diameters are .724 & .724 with restrictions of .040 right and .027 left. Length of pull is 14 inches from the front trigger over an older Del Grego marked pad. Drop at heel is 2 1/4 and drop at comb is 1 3/4. Weight is an impressive 10 pounds! This is super Rare BIG Parker BHE that may be totally unique in its configuration. Please consider our many photos as part of our description. This shotgun was used by D.W. Voorhees who was a famous Trap shooter from the early 1900's and a close asociate of Fred Kimbel. A great high grade special order Parker Double deserving of much more research.
