Colt manufactured and sold the 2nd Generation black powder reproductions mainly in the 1970's. They were faithful reproductions of Colt's original models including the Walker, the Dragoon, the Army and Navy models, and the 1849 Pocket Model among others. This example is a 3rd Model Colt Dragoon that is in mint condition and unfired in the original serial numbered box. This particular Dragoon has exceptionally beautiful case colors and highly figured Walnut grips. The factory gloss blue finish is also beautiful with a superb polish and deep blue tone. Do not confuse these 2nd Generation Colt black powder guns with the later 3rd Generation "Signature Series" black powder line, in which the Colt firm had no hand in the production. This 3rd Model Dragoon would be a centerpiece addition to any modern black powder pistol collection.
