A. WATERS U.S. MODEL 1836 FLINTLOCK PISTOL DATED 1840. Smoothbore .54 caliber 8 ½” barrel proofed at the breech “U.S./LS/P”. Lock plate stamped “ORDNANCE EAGLE HEAD/A. WATERS/MILBURY,MS./1840” All original and complete in fine condition. Original flintlock configuration with all the original lock parts and not a reconversion. Lock and hammer with most of the grey case hardening color and crisp barrel and mounts with original patina. Barrel with a few spots of light salt and peppering. Excellent stock with light inspector’s cartouche. Perfect working order and excellent bore. Seminole War date. Very nice example at a very reasonable price.
