Description:
W. KETLAND & CO. BIRMINGHAM FLINTLOCK TRADE PISTOL CIRCA 1810-20. 15” overall with 9 ½” round smoothbore .56 caliber barrel with Birmingham proofs at the left breech and stamped “LONDON” at the top. 100% original in every respect with all the original lock parts. Very fine example of this classic Indian Trade Pistol made in Birmingham for the American and British Fur trade companies.in the early 1800’s. Excellent condition overall with fine crisp metal patina and all the stock finish. Lightly engraved brass mounts with unpolished mellow color. Perfect working order and excellent bore. Original ramrod. Very nicely proportioned handsome example with many of the later ones with shorter, larger caliber barrels. Extra nice.
