FRENCH ST. ETIENNE MODEL 1822 FLINTLOCK LIGHT INFANTRY MUSKET CIRCA 1830’S. 39” smoothbore .69 caliber barrel with Liege proof at the top breech. Lock plate stamped “MRE. RLE./ DE ST. E.”. Stock with Ordnance Inspector’s marks on right side of butt including a storekeeper’s cartouche dated 1837. All original with exception of the ramrod which is and old period replacement. Fine plus with very fine metal with original patina. Excellent markings. Original flint and not a reconversion and with all the original lockparts. Excellent stock with nice handling patina.
