Description: General Specs: Ithaca, Year 1919, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 4oz, Cyl/IC, LOP 14", DAH 2 7/8", DAC 1 3/4" Serial Number: 337551 Ithaca made over 250,000 Flues model guns, the most prolific of all their various models of side by side guns created over the years. Collectors of Ithaca guns tend to gravitate toward the NID model that followed the Flues model. In my opinion, the Flues gun is often more desirable in the way of handling characteristics, weight, and balance than the NID, and they have always been reliable, solid little guns. Ithaca gun always had nicer wood and checkering than other makers in the same price range, and tens of thousands are still in use today. This gun, sn337551 built in 1919, IS A VERY DIFFERENT GUN THAN THE AVERAGE FLUES GUN YOU WILL SEE FOR SALE. First, it was shipped from the factory with open chokes of Cylinder and Improved cylinder and the barrels are so marked. What a great grouse and woodcock gun they made with this one. Second, THE FACTORY ORIGINAL FINISHES are beautiful, with 95% original case color, 98% factory trigger guard blue and wood finish remaining, and just light wear on the barrel blue. The bores are perfect mirrors and the screws are excellent. These little guns are most often found with little finish remaining, used hard over the years. The gun is tight as new, and it seems to have been barely carried and shot. Balanced perfectly in hand and weighing just 6 1/4lbs., you have the ultimate upland carry gun for your favorite game. CONDITION IS THE PRIMARY FACTOR WHEN DETERMINING VALUE AND DESIRABILITY IN INVESTMENT QUALITY SHOTGUNS. Add delightful handling characteristics and 20 gauge and this is a gun you should not pass up! It is an affordable, lovely little Ithaca ready for the season. Thanks for looking.
