This is a Colt Factory Fitz confirmed by the Factory Letter , Under special features it says Cutaway Configuration. Its what they called a Fitzgerald. Ser # 412,561 shipped in 1934 to George Harold Company New York City. Geo Harold was a retired NYPD police officer. He opened a Police equipment store very near the NYPD headquarters. He sold police equipment such as Guns ,uniforms ,Badges etc. This one was in a colt shipment of only one piece. A special order gun for someone?? It retains its original finish, cylinder is well holster worn and nose of barrel. a lot of blue remains on the rest of the piece.Front and backstrap are very nice. Mechanically excellent. Locks up in single and double action solid. The bore and cylinder are near perfect. Very nice non numbered grips as usual for Detective specials.The Factory VP is on the right side of the frame as it should be. A interesting real Fitz.
