U.S. Bayonet by Rock Island Arsenal. 1880’s Vintage .45-70 bayonet and scabbard. Very attractive bayonet and scabbard that was made at R.I.A. in the early 1880’s. This would have been made for the rifles coming out of Springfield Armory during the time, such as Trapdoor Springfield, Chaffee-Reece, and for the 1885 Remington Lee. Scabbard and bayonet still retain original bluing. Hard to find examples like this now!
