This Single Action was shipped to Walter Tips Company in Austin, Texas on September 22, 1906. Walter Tips was only a stone's throw from the Texas Ranger's Headquarters in Austin, and in fact, supplied many of the rifles and handguns carried by the Texas Rangers. This 4 3/4 inch .44/40 is completely original and retains about 30% of its blue and color case-hardened finishes and has it's original grips. It appears to have been well cared for and not abused in any way. Comes with a December 9, 2013 Colt Factory Letter. It is a very nice example of a Colt Frontier Six Shooter with Texas history.
