Imperial German WWI-Era NCO Saber by Alex Coppel
1890s Through WWII Usage
Here we present an Imperial German NCO Saber by Solingen maker Alex Coppel, circa 1914. This saber design was light and primarily for dress usage. It was used from the 1890s up through World War II, more so during the First World War. It features a dove’s head pommel, P-shaped hand guard, and slightly curved blade. Steel is nickel plated. Grip is composite with wire wrap.
The overall condition is near fine. The grip and wrap are complete and tight. Nickel finish is 90%. Markings are clear. The scabbard is black with signs of use. Tip of the blade is slightly misshapen.
