Description:

WORLD WAR I Alex Coppel ARTILLERY Sabre

Imperial German Sword Made in Solingen, Germany

Here we present a World War I Imperial German Artillery Saber, made circa 1914 by Alex Coppel of Solingen, Germany. Solingen has long been a blade making center of the world and Alex Coppel one of its most famous names. Though WWI was, in many ways, the last hurrah of the use of the sword in modern combat, this saber is heavily constructed for combat and not for dress uniform alone.

This design features a long fuller. The blade is marked “ALEX.COPPEL/SOLINGEN”.

The overall condition is very good. The blade is covered in a smooth, light gray patina and is 29-3/4 inches in length.

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Overall condition as seen in photos.
