Up for sale today is a Great Western Arms Co. Model 1873 revolver, serial no. GW6207 chambered in caliber .44 Special. This excellent as-new-no-box revolver has a mint bore and like-new finish on both the metal parts and the stag grips. Great Western Arms Co. was founded in the 1950’s to fill the niche left when Colt stopped producing the venerable 1873 model revolver, and this American-made revolver is from the same production lines as the ones made by GWA Co. featured in so many Westerns in the ‘50s and ‘60s and presented to such people as John Wayne, Audie Murphy, and Dwight Eisenhower. A great piece of history and a fantastic shooter as well.
