German Sidearm for WWI & WWII
Here we present a DWM (Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken) Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol. Basing his design off Hugo Borchardt’s seminal C93, Georg Luger successfully brought Borchardt’s work to practical and productive fruition. While finding buyers for the C93 seemed an exercise in futility, the new Luger Pistol found many countries eager to test it and even adopt it. There are many variations in this field of collecting, but relatively few major changes in overall design from beginning to end. The Luger is certainly one of the most iconic firearms in history, made so by its association with Germany during both World Wars.
The top of the chamber is marked “DWM”. Underneath the barrel is import marked “LUGER P08 9MM GERMANY/C.A.L. ST. ALB. VT”. This pistol is equipped with a lanyard loop at the bottom rear of the grip frame.
The overall condition is good. This pistol has been put together from numerous serial numbers and re-blued. Function is very good and the bore is clean with sharp rifling.
