ENGRAVED 1920s Spanish GARATE ANITUA Pistol
‘THE BEST AUT. “EXPRESS” FOR 32 CAL’
Here we present an engraved Garate Anitua Pistol, manufactured in Eibar, Spain circa the 1920s. This pistol was made for the export market in the early 20th Century. This would have appealed to those wanting a very small, concealable firearm chambered in the popular .32 ACP. This cartridge was very popular in many militaries and especially in the civilian protection market during this time.
This pistol is engraved. The left side of the frame is marked “F.A.M. GARATE ANITUA & CO. EIBAR/THE BEST AUT. PISTOL ‘EXPRESS’ FOR 32 CAL/MADE IN SPAIN”.
The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces have a light, smooth patina. The engravings are still visible. The markings are clear and legible. The bore is clear. The walnut grips are in good condition. The action on this pistol is excellent.
