Sold Please go to ironmenarms . c o m for many more detailed photos. On Hold 8/29/18 Offered is a great Factory B Style Engraved Savage 1899 25-35 WCF 26 inch Octagon Rifle. Serial number is 51307. There are very few engraved Savage 1899s on the planet, and even fewer with the “B Engraving” and "Leader" wood. This Savage was made in 1905 and is entirely factory correct, including the 3x wood with fancy Leader "Flame" checkering pattern. The rifle is in fantastic original condition considering its age of 113 years. Excellent receiver and barrel blue. Sharp original Leader or Flame style checkering on the three XXX fancy stock and fore end. The original piano type wood finish is strong with some light handling marks but nothing major. There are no cracks, repairs or non-factory alterations that we see anywhere. The original open sights are present. There are strong traces of case color on the lever and butt plate. Excellent screws and sharp factory B style engraving. The bore has strong rifling but does have some darkening throughout. This will clean up better. We rate the bore a 7 out of 10. Mechanically excellent. There were fewer than 1000 engraved Model 1899's made in all grades. This is a rare opportunity to put this fine investment quality firearm in your collection and to take it for a walk in the deer woods on occasion. This is a fantastic and rare special order 1899.
