For sale is this completely original Confederate Morse Carbine as made in Greenville ,SC. at the State Military Works under contract to George W. Morse. This weapo is famous for using the first sucessful self contained brass cartridge patented by Morse. This carbine--serial number 4xx is a low number 3rd model in exceptional condition. The brass remains in original uncleaned patina and the wood has good original varnish. The bore is excellent and in the original .50 cal. All parts are numbered and match that should be to include roman numerals on several parts. It retains the original rod and tip. There is a tiny fingernail sized brazed repair to the under side of forearm that is probably original and of the period. This carbine has no cracked receiver or other parts as many do and would be a wonderful addition to a nice collection. Included is one original morse cartridge that is exremely rare and a valuble addition to this carbine. A copy of the new book "Best Gun in The World" on Morse carbines is included . This is a recently discovered gun and is not listed in this book in the known serial number section. Your chance to own a really great gun.
