EXCELLENT COLT NEW LINE .32 Etched Panel Revolver
Potent Conceal & Carry Made in 1874
Here we present an antique Colt New Line “Etched Panel” .32 Revolver, made in 1874 in Hartford, Connecticut. About 22,000 were produced. This revolver was designed to be a small but potent self-defense revolver for stowing in one’s pocket in the 19th Century. Spur Trigger “Suicide Special” manufacture was fierce during this time, and Colt struggled to compete against the countless small shops making very similar, less expensive revolvers, though not necessarily of the same quality. The Colt remained a steady, reliable force in firearms for much longer than the rest.
The revolver features 5 shots of .32 rimfire. The top of the barrel reads “COLT’S PT. F. A. MFG. CO./HARTFORD CT USA”. The left side of the barrel features the trademark etched panel “COLT NEW 32”. The cylinder flutes are the short variety.
The overall condition is excellent. The original nickel finish is about 95% complete. The markings are clear and legible. Very clear etched panel. The serial numbers match, including the walnut grips. The bore is clean and bright. The walnut grips are fine. The action on this revolver is excellent. Here is a very collectible specimen of the Colt New Line .32!
