Description:
1892 .44-40 SADDLE RING CARBINE, MADE 1919.  A very interesting and unusual carbine that has an oval stamping on the left side of the receiver indicating that it was owned and used by the Argentinean Police. Unfortunately, this stamping is in a place where the saddle ring rubbed, so some of it is hard to read and worn away. Overall fine butt stock with good wood to metal fit that shows some wear and handling. Forend is fairly smooth and looks like it might have been lightly gone over.  Metal is an even worn brown patina. Action is tight with a bright excellent bore. Fine markings with no foreign proof marks. Correct carbine front sight with small buckhorn rear sight in the factory dovetail. Tiny import markings on the top of the receiver side that hare hardly noticeable. An unusual ’92 carbine in desirable .44-40 with a great bore! Lots of history in this one.
