This L.C. Smith was built in 1916. The shotgun's serial number is 11940 R. It is fitted with a 30 inch barrel. The chokes are full and full. The "pull" is 14 inches. All other measurements are standard for field grade guns. The bores have some light pitting in spots otherwise the bores are bright. The barrel bluing is mostly patina It has the original ivory front and center beads intact. The stock and forend have no cracks or wood loss. The stock has some nice figuring of the grain. The checkering shows some wear mostly by the forend. The side locks and reciever finish is mostly patina. The action is tight. The triggers have crisp releases. The shotgun is in good firing order. The barrels are Armor steel barrels. The shotgun is all matched serial numbers. The pistol grip cap is original to this gun. 30 inch barrels in 20 gauge shotguns is very seldom seen. It would be considered a rare feature. This Field Grade shotgun is the standard work horse for the L. C. Smith line of shotguns. Having a 30 inch barrel and being a 20 gauge is a plus for this gun!
