Antique GERMAN Saber by PETER KNECHT of Solingen
Mid-to-Late 19th Century Sword
Here we present an antique German Saber by Peter Knecht Sword. This sword follows the general pattern of the Prussian Blucher Sabel, though scaled down. This saber features a stirrup type of hilt and a relatively wide and sweeping blade for cutting versus thrusting. The right ricasso is marked “P. KNECHT”.
The overall condition is good. The blade is 29 inches in length. Metal parts are bright. The brown leather scabbard has opened up along the seam.
