SOLD. This leather-wrapped vintage case (1920s-1940s?) is a pure classic in outstanding original condition with wonderful leather patina. No scars or gouges.
These cases were made for VL&A, VL&D and the genuine Abercrombie & Fitch. It opens at both ends and is latched by brass buckles and bridle leather straps. Straps and handle are in great condition. Stippled design along the length. Overall length is 45 inches x 6 inches wide and with a depth of 3 1/4 inches. It begs for a classic Westley Richards, Holland & Holland, Griffin & Howe, R.G. Owen, Rigby or other fine classic rifle with iron sights. One of the finest classic rifle cases that I have ever seen.
