Gun is in the 600 serial range and was made in September of 1862. All matching numbers including the screws. Correct sights. Barrel has turned a pleasing plum/brown and has sharp barrel markings as well as sharp corners. Bore is about good condition and could benefit from a good cleaning. Rifling is fairly deep. Mechanically excellent condition. The brass receiver is a beautiful butterscotch patina. No signs of tampering. Original wood is fine with a coat of linseed oil added. Not sanded or undersized. Has the early 1st model rounded point on the heel and toe. Made without sling swivels. This rifle has the "H" on the lower tang indicating it was inspected by Benjamin Tyler Henry himself.
