The Luger became and remained the iconic sidearm of Germany in both World Wars. The one bear the acceptance marks and proofs of the Imperial German military on the right side of the frame. It is dated “1920/1915” on the top of the chamber. This indicates that it was originally made in 1915 and was used throughout the Great War. After Germany’s surrender and the imposition of the Treaty of Versailles, Germany was limited in its arms production, the type of weapon and number of weapons. This pistol might have been bought back, turned in, confiscated or simply re-issued once it was marked “1920” in the same year. This effectively marked it as property of the Reichswehr, the Weimar Military. The overall condition is good. The original blue finish is about 30%. The markings are clear and legible. The serial numbers match on the barrel, frame, chamber, side plate, all parts of the toggle, and the grips. The takedown lever has been modified during the period of use and is not numbered. The magazine base is a replacement. The original grips show long use and are whole and solid. The bore has seen much use and bears only traces of rifling. Otherwise it is smooth with a frosted appearance. The action is strong. The black leather field holster is in very good condition. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 4 inches. Caliber: 9mm Luger Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
