Serial #1732 matching appears on frame, barrel, cylinder, and loading assembly. Cylinder pin and plunger are numbered 32. These scarce revolvers were produced early in the war during 1861-1862 with only approximately 3,000 manufactured. This example is in very good+ condition overall. The metal is a pleasing smooth aged-grey mixed with brown. Very clear barrel markings on the top "B. F. JOSLYN. / PAT'D MAY 4TH,1858.". Bore is dark with strong rifling. Mechanics are very good. Beautiful 2-piece original walnut grips with fine distinct checkering still present, some trivial handling marks on butt and one small worn chip to front toe of left grip.
