This is extremly rare D-GUARD bowie,made by the 'MEMPHIS ''NOVELTY WORK, THOMAS LEECH & COMPANY, MEMPHIS Tennessee in Sept 1861, they started to produce all sort of weapons. This Bowie has only NOVELTY WORKS on the blade which is common for this maker,many items did not have Memphis on them. This is a clip tip bowie is 21'' inches long, great patina and very heavy blade with several minor nicks on the blade, with dark hard wood grip. 859-533-5445
