French and Indian War Era Flintlock Pistol
Wonderful mid 18th century unsigned relief carved flintlock pistol with hand strip decoration applied to the maple stock. Decoration of this type was a favorite among the Native American Trade. It is possible of American origin but maybe of European origin. This nice original flintlock pistol is iron mounted with engraving on the lock, side plate, trigger guard and butt cap. It has 8” octagon to round barrel and is 13” overall. Ca: French and Indian War and probably for the Native American Trade. All original! Nice addition to an F and I War Collection.
