Description:
This is a Spencer 1860 saddle ring carbine in .52 Spencer Caliber. The carbine features a 22” barrel, hardwood stocks, tubular magazine housed in the stock, adjustable rear sight, brass blade front sight. And quick lever action. The carbine is in very good condition with the metal all in the grey/white patina with some case coloring remaining on protected parts of lever. Very few handling marks in the metal . The stocks are in very good condition with some dings and compression marks as shown and has a very nice "Cartouche" on left side. The bore shows strong rifling and is very bright! The receiver is marked with a “M” on the left side, lever has a “M” and action has an "P" and a "J". stamped into the right side. serial number #54081, manf. 1863-1865. It is marked on the rear of the receiver . Barrel address and patent marking are faint and hard to read without a glass. Has a ladder, adjustable Rear sight. Front sight is a brass insert blade style. blade The action operates smoothly and no obvious issues have been observed with function of this fine carbine.
