THis is a very nice Sharps "New Model" 1863 carbine. I believe it is .50-70 caliber. It has a 22" round, 6 groove, barrel with an excelent bright bore! Metal finish is mostly all blue patina with some case coloring on the lever and reciever. Has 2 cartouches in the buttstock. One is avove the saddle ring bar and the other is in middle of left side of butt stock. Function and lock up are excellent.
