Pocket Revolver Number “125” of About 3,300 Produced During Civil War-era Here we present an antique Bacon Pocket Model Revolver, made circa 1860 in Norwich, Connecticut. Thomas K. Bacon was the founder of the company and was also involved with the Manhattan Fire Arms Co. as the superintendent. He also had business dealings with Ethan Allen and Allen & Thurber. When Manhattan moved their operation away from Norwich, Bacon left the company to stay behind and work on his own firearms manufacturing company. Part of Bacon’s contract with Manhattan included a “no-compete” clause that he would have been in violation of if the heads of Manhattan had bothered to sign the agreement. Nevertheless, they still took him to court with no official judgement recorded. Bacon’s arms were popular on the commercial market and many made their way onto Civil War battlefields upon being privately purchased by soldiers. The top of the barrel is marked “BACON MF’G CO NORWICH CONN.” The overall condition is very good. The metal surfaces have a light gray patina. The markings are clear and legible. The serial numbers match. The walnut grips are original and in good shape. The bore is well-rifled and in good condition. The action is excellent. Here is a very nice, scarce Bacon revolver! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 4 inches. Caliber: .31 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE.
