Description:
Another fine “ESTATE” firearm offered by Dust 2 Dollars. We offer you a Scarce Remington New Model 1889 Side-By-Side “Grade 5” 12 Gauge Shotgun. There are less than 10 of these shotguns know to have been manufactured. This shotgun has been in the same family since purchased around 1894 – 1895. Our Grade 5 receiver wears the serial number of 60732 with the water table being stamped “5” for the grade. The forearm wood and metal have the matching serial number do the barrels. The butt stock number is all matching along with the receiver parts. The 28” Damascus barrels both have excellent bores with no issues and are marked “F” on the bottom. The stocks are both solid with no chips, cracks or repairs which is amazing for a 123 year old shotgun. The original butt plate has one small chip on the bottom with the rest being in excellent condition. The butt stock has some marks and dings as shown. The barrel shows some thinning in the Damascus finish but is still very distinct. The receiver case colors are vivid with thinning on carry areas. The barrels have no dents as stated have excellent and mirror bright bores. The action is tight with no movement or play in the barrels. The shotgun will ship in a modern hard case as shown.
