Imperial RUSSIAN “Miriev” Flintlock Belt Pistol
Maker Marked Under the Barrel Circa 1800
Here we present an antique Flintlock Belt Pistol, made circa 1800, in Russia. This pistol was designed to be worn on the belt for self-defense. It is a very practical pistol, with understated décor. It features a large .65 caliber bore and distinct styling. The top of the barrel is marked with three proof marks. The underside of the barrel is marked with what appears to be the Russian surname “Miriev” with a symbol at the end.
The overall condition is near fine. The iron parts have taken on a dark brown patina. The stock is fine, showing use, but very solid. The bore is very good. The action is excellent.
