It is estimated that in 1940 the Nazi Police only procured less than 1200 of these Mauser Banner Lugers with the Police acceptance "Eagle C" stamp. They were issued to police units that were part of the Nazi party that enforced the laws including the arrest of criminals and those people deemed "undesirable" by the party. This Luger is in excellent original condition. It is 100% matching numbers on all of the numbered parts except for the magazine. It retains 95% of the original Mauser factory applied blue finish, with only some minor high edge wear from holster carry and some slight thinning of the finish on the front and rear grip strap. The bore in this Luger is near perfect. It is bright with strong rifling and shows no signs of pitting or erosion. The original checkered Walnut grips are also in excellent condition. They are clean, and the checkering shows little to no signs of wear. The magazine is correct in that it is a FXO-made Nazi police magazine from the right time period, but it is not numbered to this particular Luger. This pistol works 100% like the day it left Mauser's factory. All of the controls work like they are supposed to and the internals are all clean and show no wear. All of the Mauser Banner Police Lugers have become desirable, and this variation is one of the harder to find models. If you have been looking for a nice original Nazi Police Luger to add to your collection this pistol would be an excellent choice.
