Description:
This is an ANTIQUE and can be shipped directly to your door. This is a black powder era, Colt SAA, 45 cal, serial# 28535, mfg. 1876, all numbers matching. The accompanying Colt historical information letter, indicates that most of these 1873 model Colt guns of this era were shipped with 7 1/2 inch barrels and wooden stocks. In the case of this revolver the Colt gutta percha grips are serial numbered to the gun and the marks under the ejector rod indicate that the barrel was 7 1/2 inches and likely cut to suit a customer. From the looks of the sight fitting and barrel crown it looks as though this was done at the factory. All surfaces are smooth with no pitting. The frame shows strong traces of case colors and much blue remaining on the barrel and ejector rod and light traces elsewhere. An original early civilian black powder model. Bore rifling very strong, clean with out serious pitting. Locks up is positive and secure. We always answer questions and entertain offers.
