Un-messed-with wood has beautiful checkering, is superb at the inletting, and wears the original factory varnish. 32" extractor barrels have 2-3/4" chambers, lock up tight to the breech face and measure: R. 0.732" bore, with 0.032" Full choke L. 0.734" bore, with 0.036" Full choke Left bore is clean and mirror-shiny, Right has some light roughness the whole way down; but we wouldn't hesitate to shoot it, ALOT. We had the stock and fore end wood removed to confirm no cracks, matching #'s and internal mechanicals OK, and all got the big thumbs-up. Internals got a light oiling, now the action and locks work nice, smooth and positive. Strong springs, positive sear engagements, rebounding hammers. What a neat old gun. Most of these oldies now look like they've been through a cement mixer; this is a good one. Serial #57600 made in 1901. 14" pull over the original factory buttplate, 3-1/4" drop at heel, weighs 8#12oz and balances about 2" ahead of the hinge pin.
