Description:
Rising block single shot rifle in 7x57R. New action design that is sleek, elegant, extremely strong and efficient. Finite engineering analysis shows it can withstand 4 times the forces generated by standard chamberings. The action has an economy of parts, featuring an in-line coil spring driven firing pin, trigger/sear arrangement similar to bolt action rifles for crisp trigger pulls, only a 30 degree lever throw and a strong and snappy extractor. The design will soon be patented. This rifle is the prototype of the design. Lowering the underlever pushes the barrel and barrel block to rise up out of the frame, exposing the breech with much more room than a falling block when scoped. The action is 20% smaller than a Ruger no 1 or similar sized falling block action. The safety blocks both the sear and the trigger making the rifle very safe when engaged. The extractor will lightly eject the case, allowing it to clear the chamber.
The rib is machined with integral dovetails to accept Talley rings. Turkish walnut stock with hand rubbed oil finish. English scroll engraving on rust blued action. Underlever and breech block are color case hardened. Shilen barrel turned to traditional British contour, rust blued finish.
The rifle is well balanced, with a sleek and easy to carry profile. A stalking rifle like no other. Weighs 6 1/2 lbs. All work with exception of drilling and rifling the barrel was done by maker.
