Description:
Model 1842 Springfield musket in overall very good condition. All metal parts are smooth and clean with sharp markings with only some light pitting in bolster area.Lockplate has sharp eagle over U.S. and 1845 date. Original ramrod is very good with threaded tip. Bore is free of pitting and also very good. Stock is sound and free of any cracks or chips. The remains of a cartouche are on the left flat. There is a metal madalion of a lion on the right side of the shoulder stock .This gun is 100% complete and original and in this Cond. most dealers would list it in the $1800 - $2200 range
