Colt SAA .44 Rimfire
The Pistol was shipped to Hartley and Graham of New York March 30, 1881. The pistol was originally shipped as Blue with wood grips and 7 1/2” barrel.
The pistol is currently heavily engraved in New York style and nickel plated. The pistol has period correct engraved ivory grips. The grips are two pieces of ivory sandwiched to a small wood block as was common. The barrel was professionally shortened and is now 4”.
The pistol comes with a letter from Colt confirming the original configuration as a Colt SAA .44RF. This is not a perfect example, but a nice condition rare pistol with what would be considered period correct modifications.
The pistol is in good condition overall with one area of the cylinder showing spotting of the nickel plating due to storage in a display. The engraving is professional and period correct for the manufacture date. The ivory grips show age as expected.
