Minty Remington 700 BDL Varmint Special chambered in .308 Winchester. This rifle is in excellent condition, retaining 98+% of its original blue finish. The stock is also in excellent condition with only a few very light handling marks present. The stock has not been bedded and is unmodified. The barrel is a 24" Varmint contour with 1-11.25 twist rate with a perfect bore. The rifle appears used very little, although the owner states that he has fired it and it will routinely shoot sub MOA with 175gr. Federal Gold Medal Match ammo. This rifle was manufactured in 1993 and has a C-prefix serial number. The C-prefix guns are much sought after by shooters and collectors as this was during the period when Remington re-tooled their 700 production line. The C-prefix guns are known to have very tight tolerances as compared to those produced before and after. The 700 BDL .308 varmint special was the basis for the original USMC M40 Sniper rifle in the 1960's and this outfit is just as potent today as it was then. Rifle includes a one piece Burris base and rings that appear to have been hand lapped. Sorry, no box or paperwork.
