38-40 has has 24 inch round barrel with original sights. Bore is very good plus. Serial number 170xxx. Non checkered walnut with original crescent steel butt plate. Metal is mostly brown but not pitted. For some unknown reason the action has a small number 4 stamped in about a dozen spots.
