World War II Nazi Third Reich Marked Infantry Rifle Dated (19)45
Here we present a World War II “byf 45” Code Mauser K98 Bolt Action Rifle, made in 1945 in Oberndorft, Germany. Not only is this an example of Mauser’s perfected rifle, the standard by which all other bolt action rifles continue to be measured, it is also a rifle used by the Third Reich during World War II.
The receiver is marked “byf 45”, indicating that it was made by Mauser in 1945. “byf” was Mauser’s code designation. The right side of the stock is marked with a waffenamt “Eagle/135” as is the magazine plate. The magazine plate is also marked “SVW” and “byf”.
The overall condition is fine. The original blue finish is 90% or better. Phosphate finish on the bolt assembly is 95%. The markings are clear and legible. The laminate wood stock shows a few handling marks but remains in very fine shape. The marking is clear on the stock. The bore is sharp and shiny, excellent condition. The action is excellent. Here is a fantastic example of a Mauser K98 Rifle that was made in the last year of the war.
