Description:
Webley & Scott Model 1911 .22 Rimfire. This model was used for training purposes by the City of London Police. Has British broad arrow proof marks, instead of the standard BV BP proof marks. Marked "City of London Police". 90% bright blue finish. Seldom seen with the 4.5" barrel. Produced 26 March 1912. This is a single shot model. The police used this model for training, because it was less expensive to five a .22 instead of a 32acp for training purposes. At this time patrol officers did not carry a pistol. The pistols were kept at the station house, and if needed had to be checked out.
