Description:
Serial #7881, 8mm Mauser, 29" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a non-import marked rifle that retains 97-98% of the original blue finish that has silvered slightly at the muzzle, as well as along a few of the exposed edges of the trigger guard and receiver. The matching numbered bolt is finished armory bright and has a few minor spots of mild freckling. The handguard and matching numbered stock have been arsenal refinished to fine condition with an added, glossy varnish finish over light handling marks and surface bruises. The Farsi markings are still crisp and fully legible. The handguard has a slightly paler and browner color than the more reddish stock, and there are two stable cracks at the top of the wrist running back and down towards the right side. An original leather sling and bright steel cleaning rod are included. This is a nice example of a high quality, European-made contract Mauser that is in very good-near fine condition overall.
