Description:
Serial #3332, .25 RF, 18" octagon barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling at the breech. This is a one-line, “J. STEVENS & CO." address gun that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, and grips. The frame has 90-92% of the original nickel finish remaining with specks of mild freckling throughout, and the barrel has a very nicely reapplied blue finish with fading at the muzzle and mild silvering along the edges of the barrel facets. The original folding rear sight is still present, but the Beach front sight is a replacement, as is the barrel release. The walnut grips have minor handling marks and small surface blemishes in the original varnish on both sides. The matching buttstock has most of the original nickel finish remaining but does have numerous small peen marks on the nose of the mortise. This is an about very good example of a heavy frame pocket rifle. Antique
